Searches for a Periodic System in … Evolution

Inge-Vechtomov Sergei

Universal genetic structures underpinning vital functions of various living creatures were discovered during the last century. But does this principle correlate with the diversity and specificity of existing species?

Biology, undoubtedly, has only few chances to be recognized as exact science in the nearest future. Among biological disciplines, genetics and molecular biology have the highest chances to do so. Gregor Mendel, the progenitor of genetics, was the first to apply the methods of mathematical analysis in biology to process experimental results.

Rapid accumulation of knowledge about the structure of genomes and genes in different organisms and precise classification of the elements of genetic “meccano” made it possible to draw conclusions on the laws of organization of hereditary material.

More information on these and other subjects you can find in the printed version of our journal.
